5 Ways to Decorate Your Christmas Cake

There are just a few days left until Christmas, and you would be remiss to miss the delicious cakes that are an inseparable part of the feast. Our taste buds have always been attracted to cakes, but certain factors make them even more special. Plain cakes are good but edible Christmas decorations on cakes are better. So, here are five unique ways to decorate your cakes this Christmas.

1. Chocolate Christmas cake tree –Using a palette knife, spread the royal icing on the cake and it should appear rough rather than neat, with a rippled snow effect. While the icing is still soft, you can place stand up Christmas tree-shaped chocolates that are readily available during this season.

2. Fruit and Nut Christmas Cake –A simple yet sophisticated Christmas cake can be made by putting Brazilian nuts and pecans in stripes across a plain Christmas cake topped with apricot jam. Place dried cranberries across the icing and put the nuts and pecans across it. You can use a pastry brush to glaze the top of all of these with apricot jam for a delicious and shiny finish.

3. Winter Woodland Design Cake – As the very name suggests, the woodland cake icing will contain a top with pine cones sprinkled with edible glitter to create a cozy winter scene. A clean ribbon of color contrasting to the color of the cake wound around it will make it look even better. Make sure you set aside the pine cones before slicing the delicious cake.

4. Let’s party Christmas cake – The top of this cake contains a cursive font ‘Let’s party’ stand on it just like you get the happy birthday stand. Additionally, the icing is somewhat plain with star shaped pattern appearing in distant places. This star effect can be made with a star pattern rolling pin. You just need to roll the pattern onto the icing softly and a little pressing on it is required to give the pattern mark, and then you get the star shaped pattern. You can give it a 3D effect by adding star shaped chocolates or icing pattern with contrasting color icing to make it look attractive. You can also print 3d stars on edible sheets. You can use Icinginks edible sheets as they produce very vibrant colors.

5. Ginger men Christmas Cake – Have young children visiting you this Christmas? Then this is the perfect cake to fancy their taste buds. It's very easy to make, and it looks superb too. Decorate the cake with some royal icing of some color and design, preferably white. Smooth over it using a spatula, or you can design as per your creativity. To stick the Ginger men shaped chocolates, mix icing sugar with water to form a paste and use a ribbon to secure it around the periphery of the cake wall.

The very idea of Christmas brings joy to one’s mood. So make it delightful by adding the cherry to the cake while celebrating it with your loved ones.
