5 Surprise Birthday Cakes To Try

Dec 14,2016 icinginks 0

We’re kind of excited and this excitement is hard to keep. Guess what? We came up with some nifty ideas for surprise birthday cakes. And thinking of cakes, what can be the best way to surprise someone on their birthday with some type of cakes that are exciting as well as delicious but not mainstream? So let’s keep it short and sweet. We bring you some of the insanely nice ideas for a surprise birthday cake to try.

1. Croissant Birthday Cake – You may say that looks can deceive. Trust me, this is an exception. As drool-worthy as it looks, this cake idea is one of a kind. If you are wondering about the surprise, it will be revealed when the dark layer of chocolate comes out when sliced.

• Prepare using 3 cups of whipping cream, 3 eggs, 4 Oz water, 3 large croissants and an appropriate amount of dark chocolate broken into chunks placed inside.
• Slice croissants into rounds and add it to the cream mixture, allowing it to stand for a few minutes. Let it soak up the custard.
• Layer the croissant such that the chocolate gets wrapped up and pour the leftover custard on the top. Bake until the cake is brown and the liquid becomes invisible. Serve when cold.

2. Message Reveal Cake – This cake looks like a cake on the outside, but the real surprise comes from the inside when you slice the cake. One slice reveals the burst of color within. The process is simple as making the cake. Except when you need to put the required message in between the baked part.

• You will require – raspberries, pound cake mix, powdered whipped topping, butter, eggs, flavored candy oil.
• Medium heat the frozen raspberries and smash them into the desired alphabet shapes. Bake one layer of the cake and put the raspberries letter like ‘Happy birthday’ or something on it. Fill the gaps by putting the dough and covering the message inside. Bake it normally.
• Do the icing and serve. The only difference is; you should cut the cake in such a manner so that the message appears to be written horizontally.

3. Chocolate Caterpillar Cake – This is unique in the sense that it is not mainstream and looks like a caterpillar entirely. This cake is basically a chocolate flavored Swiss roll packed with chocolate flavored butter which is covered in milk chocolate and has sweet decorations covering it from all sides. A caterpillar faced cream design is added on one side of the cake to give it a more real look.

4. Princess Castle cake – Surprise a girl by coming up with the Princess Castle cake, for every girl has ever wanted to be a queen and birthday is the right time to make her feel special. To make a castle of your own design, you can make use of butter sponge castle filled and ice cream cones. Alternatively, you can also print the castle parts on edible icing sheets and paste them on your cake.

5. Vintage Grey Cake – The design of this cake is surprising to those who have matured and are around 25 years or above. This is an elegant cake mounted on a fabulous piece of edible circular cream plate with a message displayed. This cake has butter sponge filled with butter cream and raspberry jam which is further covered and decorated with soft icing.
